Model Equine Photo Showers Association

Proxy Showing Service

MEPSA offers proxy showing for our friends from countries other than the United States, as well as USA showers who are for some reason unable to mail their own photos. We encourage showers to volunteer to proxy if they are able.

Proxy showers can receive photos either by USPS mail, or via email. If sending photos via mail, entrants must send enough sets of photos to enter each division that they are interested in. For example–set for Div A, set for Div BCD, (Halter) set for E and F (performance), set for Mini, and any specialties (usually all divisions). Two sets of each is advisable to account for late results and return of photos. Also, if the Proxy Shower is to handle Championship show qualifiers and entry into the Championship show, which is advisable, additional fees for entry into the Championship will incur.

Emailed photos need to be printed, and this will include print costs, which usually involves ink, label, and photo paper costs. The entrant asking for proxy is responsible for those costs, and the proxy shower would have to agree to the extra work of printing/labeling emailed photos. This must be worked out between the showers involved.

With emailed photos, entrants must be sure the photos are in 4×6 proportions or have enough room for cropping to print to 4×6 size. If the Proxy shower must crop and resize photos before printing, extra fees may incur.

The people involved agree on how fees are paid and postage is paid or divided. MEPSA does accept PayPal for show fees, if paying MEPSA directly works best for the people proxying and being proxied. Postage is divided if more than one person has photos in the envelope, or paid by the horse owner if they are the only one showing. How many shows should be agreed upon ahead of time and any printing fees calculated accordingly.

The person who wants to show via proxy with MEPSA needs to decide if they want to begin in Novice or go right to Open. Generally, showers without several years of showing experience will benefit from starting in Novice. Please refer to the Novice link above for the class list and show schedule, which is much more limited than Open, but offers personal feedback from the judges.
