“This is an easy answer; this photo is just about perfect. The pony is clearly in focus, no part of it is blurry or hidden, the angle of the horse is perfect, the footing and the background do not distract or hide any part of the pony, but clearly highlight and emphasis the pony. The pony is a perfect example of a Shetland pony, nice color and shading, perfect pony gait, conformation and attitude are all well depicted in this photo. Needless to say she was Champion in all 4 classes entered, Pony type mares, British Ponies, Pinto Color and Other OF Resins, as well as Grand Champion in Gender, Draft/Pony and Manufacturer and Reserve Grand in Color. There were a lot of very nice models in this show and many classes it was a touch decision. Reread the reasons why I feel Dust Bunny did so well and you will be able to figure out why some photos just didn’t do as well. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to judge this show (I was a lot less nervous than when I judge China at a live show!)”

“Here’s a horse that didn’t place first or get a championship, but deserves special recognition for a number of reasons. This model has great movement. Of all the pictures I looked at, this one screamed out: I’m a real horse! She’s calm, yet alert, swinging her head from side to side so she can see and twitching her ears. I’m sure she is a great cow pony. The artist did a great job on her dappled-bay coat and the shading on her head. The photo is sharp and bright and the setting is perfect. The fence (and ads) and the footing convey the feeling of an arena where you can imagine there is going to be a day of friendly competition.”

“Here is the Judges’ choice pic, it was NOT easy, there are so many, the one I thought I was going to pick, is not the one I ended up picking, lol. I chose TS Dragon Warrior (maphi) Looking at his photo brings such good feelings to me when I look at him. He is the epitome of a dream horse from my childhood. Flowers in the abundant mane/tail, hairy legs, beautiful rich bay spotted coloring, not to mention the mold used (Adios mold) which is one of my very favorites. The work on this horse is wonderful. He is a piece I’ve admired for a long time, so he brings happy memories, and it is good to see him still showing. Congratulations Marie!”

“Photo depicts the very correct entry of Liberty Class as it is in the real horse world. Horses are turned loose, typically at an Arabian or Sporthorse Show and the judge and sometimes the audience chooses a winner. Usually these are stallions that will be later offered for stallion service auction for future futurities. This photo shows a beautifully colored Pony of America gelding returning to his owner after showing off his athletic talents. Handler has the headstall ready to put back on her pony, which is the only tack allowed in the arena during the liberty performance.”
