“Halter, chain and lead are very well made and in wonderful accurate scale. The sharply focused pose is outstanding and positioned so strategically against the slightly out of focus background. The horse’s ears, muzzle, cheek, chin, neck and crest are cleverly contrasted dark against light or light against dark to draw the viewer’s attention to those parts of the horse’s anatomy. The lovely chestnut coloration of the horse, the detailed blaze with subtle mapping and the amazingly dramatic eye that catches the light just so and appears so real it seems to actually be looking at you, all add to the incredible and successful lifelike realism of this photo. Even the spectators in the background are enjoying the chance to admire such a handsome Arabian Stallion.”

“I chose this photo because the horse and the photo look very realistic. I applaud the artist and the photographer. I could not stop staring at this photo. I wanted to look at every detail. I love the color of the horse and the colors in the background, the way they all compliment each other, then the depth of field really gives it that realistic look. I did a double take, thinking someone accidentally had a picture of their real horse in the entries.”

“I picked this cute foal because of how the total photo looks. It’s not just a newborn getting to his feet for the first time, Tonia made it look like he is seeing the cat for the first time. The angle that Tonia took the photo makes the foal look like he’s curious but very shy at the same time. It’s like he’s trying to decide whether to flee behind his mother or extend his nose to the curious cat. It is a very cute photo.”
